SBI inks MoU with Amazon for payment, commerce solutions.

India’s largest public sector lender, State Bank of India (SBI) has signed memorandum of understanding (MoU) with e-commerce giant Amazon. 

The MoU seeks to identify and tap the potential areas of collaboration for payments and commerce solutions between both signatory parties. Through this tie, SBI is seeking to enrich customers’ payment experience and opening up the windows of e-commerce to its small and medium enterprise (SME) customer’s base which is the largest in the country.

SBI is also seeking to ink similar agreement with other e-commerce players such as Snapdeal and Paypal for similar payments and commerce solutions.

Eminent scientist Dr. Selvin Christopher has been appointed as the Director General (DG) of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) along with the rank of a secretary. As a DG of DRDO, he will also severe as Secretary at Department of Defence Research and Development (DDR&D) for a period of 2 years from the date of taking over the charge. About Selvin Christopher Prior to this appointment, S Christopher was Director of DRDO’s Centre for Air-Borne Systems (CABS), Bengaluru. Presently, he is also Programme Director of Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system. He was first pioneer first Indian scientist who had directed the manufacturing of India’s first indigenous AEW&C system. Awards: Padma Bhushan, DRDO Outstanding Scientist award (2012). Apart from this, renowned scientist GS Reddy has been appointed as the Scientific Adviser to the Defence Minister with tenure of two year. Presently, Mr. Reddy is Director of Research Centre Imarat (RCI) and Programme Director of Medium Range Surface to Air Missile (MRSAM) in the DRDO.
